There was something wonderfully unexpected about Carla & Tiaan’s wedding day.
Because while everyone arrived to celebrate their wedding, Carla & Tiaan had actually already been married for an entire year.
They had quietly said “I do” a year earlier and kept it a secret from their family and friends. And then, one year later, they brought everyone they loved together to celebrate what they had already been building together.
Their wedding day also happened to be their first wedding anniversary.
Talk about keeping a secret!
But what made the day so meaningful was that it wasn’t simply about finally having a wedding celebration. Carla & Tiaan wanted the day to be about something much bigger: celebrating each other and celebrating their marriage.
There was something so beautiful about that perspective.
They weren’t just celebrating one day or one moment. They were celebrating the year they had already shared — the life they had started building, the memories they had made, and the commitment they had made to one another.
And you could feel that intentionality throughout their entire day.
From the little details to the moments they created with their loved ones, everything felt thoughtful and deeply personal.
It was a day filled with joy, beautiful moments, and plenty of reasons to celebrate, but underneath all of it was something even more special:
A couple who had already been married for a year, surrounded by the people they love, choosing to pause and celebrate their marriage and each other.
