Booking an engagement shoot and why

So you got engaged, and you are on a high from all the excitement. You start with wedding planning and think to yourself, is it worth it to book an engagement session?

My answer is YES! It is totally worth doing and it's so much fun.

Engagement sessions shouldn't just be something to tick off your to-do list. It's an opportunity for you as a couple to get comfortable with the camera and with a photographer. We are so used to those selfie photos or a quick smile for the camera photo. Doing an engagement shoot will give you space to get close be present in the moment and forget that you are being photographed. It's about documenting your love and this new chapter and phase in your life.

You want to feel comfortable and relaxed on your wedding day.

Booking a shoot with a photographer that will possibly shoot your wedding day, will make you feel relaxed and at ease. You will know what to expect and you will trust them to capture the best images for you on your day.

Photography is art, and the minute you have a relationship and connection with your photographer, it allows them to be intentional throughout. Not just on your engagement shoot but throughout your wedding day.

I know that not all guys are fans of taking photos, but when you book the same person for your engagement session and your wedding day it will make them feel so much more relaxed they can then be themselves and forget about a camera.

So now that you are semi-convinced, you might be thinking but where?

Choosing a location should be special to you as a couple. It can be as simple as a home shoot with your fur babies. Or maybe a forest shoot, or a beach session. Whatever you love doing as a couple I recommend you choose for your engagement session. Not only will it make it more special for you but its memories made before your wedding day. I'm all about making memories and making everything special.
